Keeping a food diary

Not really feeling so great today.

I think I have taken Dr Rensburg’s words a little too much to heart about “eat, drink and be merry” before the second phase of the program begins.

As you can see, I have been filling out my food diaries religiously.  I have used the food diary before, but that was when I was on weight watchers.  Also on WW you use it to keep track of your daily calories, not necessarily to look at your existing food patterns.

Some of the things I have noticed since Sunday are:

  • When I want a break from ‘thinking time’ at work, I will tend to get up and pick at food – wonder around the office looking for something to do
  • It’s not necessarily a lot of food, but I can start to see how it might all add up after weeks and months of eating like this
  • Most of the time when I eat lunch or dinner I am usually eating because it’s time to eat, not because I am hungry
  • I drink way too much wine – I might even

We have a team get away next weekend and I will be starting stage 2 on Thursday.  Needless to say that I am a little nervous about sticking to it.  One of the girls doesn’t drink (she is going through Chemotherapy at the moment).  I might let her into the secret about what I am doing – sharing it makes a difference.
